Izzivi »internacionalizacije« jezika v digitalni dobi: korpusnojezikovna analiza variantnosti pri prečrkovanju in morfološkem podomačevanju kazahstanskih osebnih imen v angleščini

Povzetek

V prispevku so predstavljeni izzivi transliteracije kazaških lastnih imen, zapisanih v cirilici, v angleščino, zlasti v kontekstu prehoda kazahstanskega pisnega sistema iz cirilice v latinico, ki poteka od leta 2017, z namenom, da bi kazaščina postala mednarodno bolj prepoznavna. Prizadevanje Kazahstana za internacionalizacijo je privedlo do še plodnejših prevodnih izmenjav med kazaščino in angleščino, kar je povzročilo precejšnja razhajanja pri zapisu lastnih imen v angleščini, tudi pri znanih in ključnih osebnostih in imenih iz kazahstanske kulture in zgodovine. Namen prispevka je analizirati stopnjo variantnosti pri prečrkovanju z uporabo korpusnojezikovne metodologije, v ta namen pa smo sestavili korpus angleških podstrani več uradnih/institucionalnih kazahstanskih spletnih strani (vladnih, visokošolskih itd.). S tem korpusom prikažemo imena z najvišjo stopnjo variantnosti v angleščini v njihovih angleških ustreznicah in oblikovali kategorije potencialno problematičnih imen z vidika prečrkovanja, obenem pa tudi z vidika morfološkega podomačevanja oziroma konkurenčnosti med rusificiranimi in kazaškimi oblikami.
