Abstract

Hate speech and insulting are common characteristics of ideologically constrained discourse, while at the same time it relates to socially delicate and important topics. In this paper we investigate what is going on in idological discourse on the level of interpersonal comprehension and understanding. We find that miscommunication is present on the level of macropropositions. Circumstances that activate emotional reaction and competetion support such miscommunication, as well as orientedness towards oneself instead towards the other.
