Abstract

The article discusses the influence of the English language on the Croatian language of fashion observed on the Croatian fashion websites Buro 24/7, Fashion.hr and Extravagant. The analysis was conducted on the lexical and semantic levels. The corpus is divided into pseudo-Anglicisms, direct loanwords, semi-translated words, loan translations, and semantic loanwords. This is followed by a discussion of the acceptance and adaptation of Anglicisms in Croatian fashion terminology and the justification for their use in Croatian.
