The Slovenian Verbs delati and početi from a Contrastive Perspective

The article deals with basic verbs denoting actions and activities in Slovenian and Russian. The Slovenian verbs delati ‘to do, to work’, narediti ‘to do, to make’ and početi ‘to do’ are compared with the main Russian equivalents работать ‘to work’, делать ‘to do, to make’, сделать ‘to do, to make’. The polysemy of these verbs is considered from the point of view of constructive grammar since the specific meanings of highly polysemantic verbs are only actualized in individual constructions.
