In the dialectal speech of Trubarʼs home village of Rašica, the intersection of north-south and (formerly) east-west routes also brings together several isoglosses that separate groups of quite similar dialectal speech within the Dolenjska dialect, which in this case is more developed in the north and more archaic in the south. The village of Rašica has never been a parish seat and has even moved from the Škocjan parish to the Velikola parish, which certainly caused mixing of the original features of the dialect to begin. These original features can still be identified in the dialect. Rašica is registered in the Slovenski lingvistični atlas (Slovenian Linguistic Atlas), based on a 1959 questionnaire, as location T242; it was surveyed again in 2008. The characterization of the dialect in the form of a phonological description is an important contribution to this large dialectological project.
