Kermauner's assessment of Slovene literature introduces a new philosophical and socilogical approach to literary, particularly drama, texts. He developed some original models of interpretation, which he termed: the line segment model, the straight line model, the mycelium model, the bow model, the rosette model, the cathedral model, the triange model etc. While his terms are unusual from the standpoint of literary criticism, particularly as compared to the exsisting methods of interpretation, they are logical and justified in the context of Kermauner's view of literary interpretation. Applying a developmental approach, the paper presents the formation of Kermauner's interpretation models. The presentation is theoretical, as empirical application of his models would require an additional study.Downloads
