Abstract

The presence of the fairy tale in literature at the end of the millennium confirmed the popularity of this oldest prose genre in Slovenia, while indicating the possibility of a new genre term - the fairy-tale novel. Its incorporation in the comparative context of folktale and modern fairy tale and a brief survey of contemporary Slovene fairy tale revealed in the novel of the 1990's interesting narrative transformations of the fairy-tale features.
