Abstract

With the survey of Slovene grammars and some linguistic works the author presents the historical development of the valency issues, particulary the development of the semantic and structural syntactic of Slovene verbs, and examines to which Slovene grammarians and linguists have succeeded in descibing Slovene (particulary structural syntactic) valency features. The survey is deliberately chronological in an attempt to more clearly point out some peripheral issues in the development of the valency theory.
