Abstract

Slovene vowels and their segmental and prosodic features are defined in the phonological system of Modern Standard Slovene, but some questions have been raised concerning their duration. The present article focuses on the analyses of duration and the formants of stressed vowels under the most objective conditions possible, i.e., in the phonological pairs in the utmost identical phonological environment. Particular attention is paid to the material, its preparation, and treatment.
