Abstract

The paper documents some of the more common varieties of light fiction employed in Slovenia, analyzing them ilight of the Slovene postmodern period. The critical preference during this period for genres that is accompanied by assertions of the ambition of certain trivial genres and authors is tested on the basis of some of the more common genres: the detective story and the murder mystery, science fiction, the horror story, and the romance novel.
