The study aims at defining the poetological and philosophical characteristics of the dramatic text written by Ivan Pregelj. Pregelj recognized H. Ibsen as the model of modern European as well as his own dramatic creativity; however, he conceived his literary figures in the tenor of Christian dualism, as a dramatic symbiosis of flesh and spirit, of matter and ethos, and produced baroquely expressionistic dramatic texts, in which he combined naturalistic detail, symbol and estatics in a way which often results in a grotesque effect.Downloads
