Abstract

Based on the readership data, the author attempts to show the linguistic-stylistic characteristics of a typical tabloid story from the most read Slovene daily. The analysis included 25 front-page stories published in Slovenske novice. The author aimed to determine what linguistic devices fulfill the role of new communicative strategies in tabloid journalistic communication.
