Abstract

The article discusses the comprehension of the relation between the (revealed, written, announced) Word of God (Gospel) and Luther's belifs and contemporary Protestant theology (Barth, Jüngel). It deals with the relation between the Word of God and the human word as well as human languages that are part of this theology. The Church of Primož Trubar - 'God's Church of the Slovenian language' aspired to present the Protestant view of the Church as the Church of God's Word. Christ-centrism and its related position of the Word of God in the Church was the essential impetus to Slovenian Protestants to enforce the use of the people's language in the Church in its oral and written forms in entirety.
