Abstract

The author discusses - mainly on the exaples of last names - two complexes of problems: (a) Slovene adaptation of the Russian clusters consonat + e and consonat + ë'; (b) the question of discrepancy between Latin transliteration of personal names, as it appears in passports of the citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, and spelling of these names according to the rules of Slovene transliteration and/or adaptation.
