Strategies of Linguistic Operation in Slovene Political Communication

The article presents the analysis of linguistic operation of the representatives of the larges governing and opposition parties in the Slovene parliament between 2000 and 2004. It is based on the premise that politicians in various communicative situation, particularly with regard to (potential) presence of voters, behave in different ways. From a fairly large corpus of mostly spoken, but also written texts, the author attempt to discern the main patterns of linguistic operation of Slovene politicians and the main linguistic devices and processses used in it.Downloads
