Abstract

The article examines insufficiently analised influence of the Old Testament tradition on religious episc of Serbian Pre-Romanticism, authored by Milovan Vidaković and Gavrilo Kovacevic. The results of the study should confirm the important role of popular topics and motofs from apocryphal tradition in defining major genre characteristics of religious epics, very little analyzed field within the Serbian 19th century literature.
