Abstract

This paper discusses the local functions of the spatial semantic parameters (expressed by spatial case constructions) in relation to their non-local functions in the Freising Folia. Outside the spatial domain the orientation and direction spatial parameters indicate realtionships between the two situations in the domain of temporality, quantification, causality and intentionality. In this sense, the spatial case constructions outside the spatial domain can be undersood as a spatial metaphor.
