Abstract

Slovene folk poetry and Kajetan Kovič's poetry seem to be far apart, considering the differences in their intellectual-historical contexts and creative principles of different poetics, and also the fact that one cannot find quotations and stylization of folk poetry in Kovič's poetry, unlike in the poetry of some of his contemporaries. Nevertheless, in Kovič's collection Labrador one can detect some references to folk poetry. The article examines closely the ballad of the cycles Bezgove ure, Pastorale, and Balade o sestri in bratu and their possible overlap with the folk ballad and folk poetics in general
