Tone Pavček's youth and non-youth poetry are closely connected and interdependent sub-genres. Characteristic of both is the initial revisiting of the neoromantic poetic tradition; later, chilhood in non-youth poetry becomes an opportunity for overcoming "silence", a symbol of life joy, mystery, and vision, still later just a memory. Parallel to these functional shifts, the topical and thematic structure of youth poetry was transformed as well, i.e., from dialogism, poetization of nature and fiction, adopting child and youth perspective, to the reflective lyric and an apparent overlap with poetry for adults.Downloads
