The article presents different strategies of expressing voice in Slovene, Russian and Štokavian: in these languages the category of voice is expressed through the opposition between active and passive structures. The paper explores differences in use of passive constructions in the aforementioned languages. Passive constructions are compared with impersonal constructions expressing a general agent that are typical of South Slavic languages.
