The article discusses short narrative prose in the zears of avant-garde experiments, i.e., the period of 1922-1924. The focus of the study are Anton Podbevšek with his avant-garde journals Trije labodi and Rdeči pilot (1922) and his collaborators, who published several short narratives in them. The avant-garde short fiction was untraditional with expressionist elements, but narratively it was not suggestive enough to have had strong impact on further development of this prose. In the same period, short narratives were published by Slavko Grum, Miran Jarc, Ivan Mrak, etc., who did not belong to Podbevšek's avant-garde circle.Downloads
